Sweet!
I follow that racing series pretty closely. It is called the American Le Mans Series (www.americanlemans.com) and they race the same cars as race at the 24 Heures Du Mans in La Sarthe, France each June.
Very exciting w/ 4 classes of cars on track at once and the variety of engine sounds!
The race was last night from 8-10:45 pm Houston time, but it is on TV today on CBS (10 am to noon PDT). If you've never seen night racing, it is incredible (ok, even if you have seen it - it's still incredible). These guys (and girls) are going as fast in darkness as they do in the daytime, sometimes faster!
Oh, and unlike many other forms of auto racing, they race in darkness, rain, fog, you name it.
The next race is this next weekend (5/20) at Mid Ohio Sportscar Course.
Here's a shot I have from the same series, but from Laguna Seca last fall:
I go with a group to this race every year and camp at the track for 3 days. It is a fantastic time!
The shot I've posted is actually a car that was at the Houston race also, but painted silver w/ red highlights.
