Well my daughter was due to give birth around 1st May but the little one was not keen to come out! We have arranged to go on Holiday on 17th May for a week, safe we thought as they tend not to let the baby wait longer than 2 weeks from the projected date. So yesterday Stacey goes into hospital for a check up, prior to the check up they told her if the baby had not arrived by yesterday (Thursday) they would keep her in and induce her. When she arrives and speaks to the consultant they decide she is ok and book her in for - yeh you guesed - Wednesday 17th May! So we are all very dissapointed as thats the day we leave for Kos for a week. Stacey came round to see us last night and was fine. Early hours of the morning we get a call from her partner to say her waters had broke and they were on the way to the hospital. We arrived around 3am and spoke to Stacey, she is fine but nothing happening yet!
Due to very strict hospital rules we can only see her between 3pm to 9pm. So we came home and my wife has gone to work, I have a day off as I have to go to another hospital later this afternoon to see a specialist!
So I am sitting here waiting for our second grandchild. I dont know what to do with myself, I cant settle, I sit for a while then I go and sit in the garden for a while (its a glorious sunny day here) and I dont know how many cigarettes I have smoked!
I have bored you with Photos of Luke, get ready to be bored even more!!
Thanks for listening!!
Mike

Mike, I thoroughly enjoyed the photos of Luke....it's so wonderful to be able to share the joys of friends you will probably never meet. I'm looking forward to seeing your new grandchild when she arrives.
While you wait could you edit some of the photos of Luke into a collage..........maybe a gift for Luke to give his new sister or brother.
hugs

Hi Sue - thanks for your very kind words and thats a great Idea re the Collage. The Doctors have told Stacey that she will be having another boy! I was so convince I would be having a 'little princess' !!
Back into the Garden, sit in the sun, watch the fish and try and relax!!

It is still a free country and you don't have to look now do you :-) I don't know if you know any May-children - my youngest is born on May 16th and they are very easy going and wonderful to be with. Stubborn yes, but I find that helps in life.

How exciting Mike! It'll be nice to see pics of the new baby. Has she picked out a name yet? It'll be nice for Luke having a brother to play with. Keep us posted!

Hi Sue - nothing happening yet! Been up to see her this evening and she is fine. A bit tired but generally ok. Still waiting to see if nature will take it's course, if not then she will have a c-section sometime tomorrow. Luke was born by c-section so Stacey is familiar with all that is happening.
Thanks for all your wishes, I told her tonight that the folks at DPC where asking after her, she sends her love to you all.
Off course I had my camera with me!
Here she is!
Edit to say - I really should have done something with the bars behind her head!!

A Very proud grandad!
Room lighting was bad but I managed, accidently shot some at iso 3200, must have been the excitment! All shots usm and resize only.

Thanks! Stacey was amazing! Only had some codeine for pain around 4pm then nothing else. Pam (wife/Mum) was her 'birth partner' as the dad (Jimmy) could not do it. Pam said it was and amazing experience, I said 'yeh I know as I was at the buisness end twice she was giving birth!

Stacey and Declan are now at home! Baby Saturday, home Sunday. Both are well. Off course it was time for Luke to meet his new brother. Initially he did not want to look at him but after a while he settled down and he knows that the baba that was in his mum's tummy is now out!
Pam and I had our first decent nights sleep last night! Now we are off to the Greek Island's (KOS) on Wednesday for a whole week of chill, chill and more chill.
I have now taken around 170 photos of Declan and Luke this weekend. Dont know if I will have time before our hols to get some up on my website but I will try.
Thanks again for all your kind wishes.
Mike
