Hey,
last weekend I've been taking pictures for my assignment for my study.
One of them is very very nice, used the Urban Acid-action (cross-processing), but because of the very bad light in the situation of the photo (I had to use 1/20, ISO 1000) there's so much noise..
I can't show you guys the whole photo because of a simular challenge entry, but I can give you a 100% crop of the photo:
I can't use Neat Image because the demo only lets me neat a small part of the original size.
"Recuce noise" doesn't work the way I want it.
How will this be printed on 20 x 30 cm? too much noise? Any options?

You're welcome...
Tip for Neat Image, if you're not aware of it already, though I don't know if it's possible on the trial version - go to the neat image website and download the proper profiles for noise reduction for your particular camera body - at each ISO.
I find that using the relevant ISO noise profile and setting NI to remove only half the noise gives me exactly what I need in 99% of cases!

hmm. I've been looking at the NI-site, there's only a plug-in for PS, no stand-alone program. I'd have to buy it for a full pro-version, but that's a no-go.
tried Noiseware, same story..
somebody sent me a NI-version, I'm gonna edit the colors etc. and print them both, to see which one is the best. |

me too :P
@ Karma: exactly. and a new lens ;)
the main thing is: normally I don't need NI because I usually work in very controlled situations, so I don't use high ISO's.
