Hey, I haven't posted any photos to the forum in a while, but I just got back from four-wheelin' in Death Valley National Park and wanted to share some. You may recognize my Hot as Hell shot in the Cliches challenge:
Here are a few more from that weekend:
I welcome all comments. If you get a chance, check out my redesigned website at www.bryanbrazil.com based on PostNuke and the Coppermine Photo Gallery. I'm sure it still has a few bugs, so let me know if you find any.
Thanks!

I appreciate your posting these as I've been meaning to get out there, but it just hasn't worked out. Was it hot? |

Excellent work, I have a question, though. Are these cropped at all? I ask only because you show which focal length was used (thank you for that, btw) and I was wondering how accurate it was (obviuosly cropping would be similar to zooming in for the viewer).
Well done.

Most of these are not cropped. The only reason I would have cropped a little is if I had to rotate to straighten the horizon. My challenge entry was heavily cropped, though, to avoid sensor dust. :-)

Yep, I got there just in time for one of their first heat waves. LOL Summer starts early in Death Valley. It wasn't too bad when I drove to areas outside of the valley like The Racetrack, etc. But when I hiked out on the dunes, it was 104 *F. I took 100 oz of water and drank it all within an hour or so. Camping out at Furnace Creek, 190 feet below sea level, was the worst, though. The heat was unbearable at night when there was hardly any wind. The best time to visit is definitely in the winter, as long as the roads are passable.

Great shots. the good part about the heat is that there aren't many visitors and the sand dunes are very natural, no foot marks :)
I visited in feb, a good weather, but too many tourists |
