Now I'm really depressed, found out today for the second time I have a herniated disk the L5 is bulged out again. Had surgery on it in 2000 felt good for 6 years and now probably loose my job in the long run. Will know true results Thursday. Guess I will have lots of time to do photography, but that don't pay very well right now.
I just start a big back yard remodel project, guess I can throw that out the window also. Think I'll change my name from spurs to the staving artist.

Just when everything looking up, it all goes hay wire. Had to go look for some positive place so I guess that's here.

Been wanting to go school, might have to look at that avenue.

Oh that does suck and I know what you're talking about. My husband Terry has had 3 operations on his colon and for hernias in a 5 year period, it was a nightmare.

Try to be positive, look at schooling and do what you can as you go. Hang in there.

Man, that sucks and I feel for you. I'm no expert on this and I'm not sure how they run things in Kansas, so take my words lightly, but could you go out of work on disablity for the time being? My buddy broke both ankles and tore his achilles tendon so he is out of work for at least 6 months. He's getting disability, and he's actually bringing home more on disibility than when he was working. I think it's a state-run thing, so Kansas might be different. But at least that way, you might stand a better chance of getting your job back when you're able to get back into the swing of things. I wish you the best, take care.

Edit: meant to say Kansas.

Yeah I got short and long term disability, but have to be off for 3 months be for I can collect. Don't think my job is an option though. I work in a wharehouse lots of lifting, I use to move around 40 to 50 thousand pounds of groceries a day.

Do you believe in chiropractic? I've heard they do good stuff on lower lumbar herniated disks.

Don't know if you want to try that. Just my $.02

yep they are amazing, I have been seeing one for a while now, earlier in the year/years I had problems with my lower back, very sharp pains that would come and go when ever the pains wanted to (wierd would only last for a few seconds). Since I have seen the chiropractic no more pains. But still sucks cause I have not played any sports that I usually do. I used to live in the bowling alley but had to stop for a year, but soon the chiropractic said I would be done.

I would really look inot chiropractic - it saved me from having surgery on my neck following a roll over accident in 1999 where I subluxed C6. Just realize that once they fix you, you need to continue periodic adjustments to stay in line. Just as your car needs regular maintenance, so does your body.

Yea would be nice if it was that easy but, my test results are in and the disc is out where they shave it off last time. Can't be much left there.

Was trying to get out and shoot some to take my mind off it. But with the medication they have me on, I'm lucky enough to operate this keyboard let alone drive.

Did not have to meds yesterday morning, had to go to doc's place then out to work. By the time I got home I could barely walk.

And my reg doc was going to give me any more pain meds. He thought they were to strong and adictive....really no shit...I pay you for you to tell me that. He didn't like my answer, but he is not wearing my shoes either.

There is two places in the house I have been all week bed and my puter chair, becuase I can adjust it to be a little comfy and my hours are all screwed up sleep most of the day and up all night

I had my L5 done last year. You know what your in for and I wish you luck and do feel for your predicament.

For those that haven't experienced this it is far beyond chiropractic help when the herniated disk bulges against the sciatic nerve.

When mine went I had been seeing a chiropractor and physiotherapy for weeks but then all of a sudden it just went completly and I couldn't even walk had to be taken to hospital by ambulance and spent the next three weeks on my back in hospital with 6 hourly injections of morphine.

Not much fun at all.

sorry to hear, I know your pain. I had a budged disk at the L4 & L5 back in January. After 6 weeks of physical therapy I am back to normal, but still afraid that it might come back. Do you know what triggered it again? I lapsed for two weeks when I was slouching at work actually couldnt walk, but I do my stretches and exersizes three times a week so things have been good for a few months.
