You're telling me! I took a management position in February and from then on, I pretty much didn't have time for anything else...except drool over everyone's photo submissions each night as a treat. Don't think that I didn't notice your ribbons, Rikki! Made me sick to my tummy!!! You rock!

Like both for first time d200 shots...Landscape with Rainbow very nice. I see some dark at the upper right and left...did you use a polarizer? I ask b/c I just got an 18-200 Nikon VR and when I use my polarizer at wide angle I get 4 dark spots in the corners.

I didn't use a polarizer. I was thinking that it may have been from the lens hood. At this point, I don't own any polarizers...at it may be a while before I can afford it. Ha ha!

The hood could do it. Did you post process the first shot in any way or is it right out of the cam? I ask b/c I may move up in a few months.

On the polarizer...save about $80 bucks if it takes you a year....buy one ...you will FREAK at the difference!

I don't know a lot about post-processing...but I did spot erased a couple of telephone lines just to the right of the rainbow...I tried to bump up the red color and that's about it. I don't really know what any of the other things mean...like layers, gausian blurs, and stuff like that so I don't post-process much.

What kind of polarizer do you have and what brand/manufacturer???

If you did the minor PP like you said...then that is a VERY NICE SHOT. The camera/lens is worth every cent.

I have a Hoya filter for my 60mm 2.8Macro and a Promaster for my 18-200 3.5 VR. I think the Hoya is a little more expensive (better?) but I'm not sure why that is! The both do a good job.

That first shot is beautiful! And congrats on the new camera!

Our pro friend was just over here last week with his new D200. OMG that thing is HUUUUUUGE lol. Showed me a bunch of pics on dish he'd brought and I was blown away at how far he could zoom in and it was still clear as a bell. I'm trying to talk him into selling one of his D70's- he has 3 of them and he said he'd think about it lol.

My daughter has a new NikonCoolPix5700 and would like to know what to do to take stop action shots of her girls playing basketball , She would like to know what settings she should use . If you could explain in very basic terms what to do I would appreciate it very much. Thank you in advance
