Is this possible? What am I missing?

Put them in a zip file.

It is possible. Just put multiple files into a .ZIP archive and DPC will unZIP after you upload. The ONLY way to upload multiple files. Other photo sites, such as PBase, support this as well.

You can upload a ZIP file containing several JPEG or GIF files -- they will unzip into the same folder in your portfolio. Otherwise, it's one at a time ...

Thanks! I thought it might work like that, but I didn't have the gumption to check it out. I will have a look at that.

Thanks!

My complaint is that you have no control over how they show up in the "My Profile" > "Portfolio List" if you upload a ZIP.

They are in no particular order and there is no way to change the order for this listing. I would think that the files would be assigned an image number in the same order as its filename, but it doesn't work like that.

But the same is true for uploading individually. It still doesn't list your files in order. It'd be a nice feature to be able to order them as you like.

On every page in your Portfolio, way way down at the bottom, is a button called "Sort Collection"

Clicking that will bring up a list of files and folders in your current location, and up/down buttons allowing you to select a file/files and move them around in the display order.

Oops, I knew that.

Let me be more specific...

On the 'My Profile' page, if you look at the 'Selected Photographs from Portfolio' section you will notice that the image NUMBERS go...

Ducks in the Sun 5 330929.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 3 330928.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 4 330927.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 2 330926.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 1 330925.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 6 330924.jpg

I'd prefer that they be:
Ducks in the Sun 6 330929.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 5 330928.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 4 330927.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 3 330926.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 2 330925.jpg
Ducks in the Sun 1 330924.jpg

See what I mean?

ETA: If you look at my actual profile you'll note that I had already sorted them, but that won't affect the section I mention.

You just need to go to the "My preferences" page and on th ebottom left hand side you can select and order what pics you want.

If you are looking to rename them you need to go into my portfolio and rename them. That is if you ahve them in the order you want but not named properly.

Please read my post again. I've already done that. I specifically want the 'Selected Photographs from Portfolio' section sorted, but it won't.

Right. They just appear in the order that you select them. You can rearrange them by using the "move up" and "move down" links.

NOPE! 'Selected Photographs from Portfolio' goes on the order that you upload the images and if you upload them as a zip file they end up in random order. Image 6 was processed before image 1 and gets the lower image number.

Hit the box that says "Show most recently uploaded images" (make sure it is NOT checked)Then you should be able to reorganize them.

You don't have "selected photographs from portfolio." You have "recently uploaded images." (Look at your profile page.) You need to change your settings and then select which photos you want displayed. Then you can order them however you like.

This is a shot from my preference page. Lower corner. My "show the most recently uploaded images" box is unchecked. Then I can select and move the order around.

It just changed because I was doing what timfythefoo said, and it changed. I copy-pasted that straight from my profile page...

My point is that, IMO when I upload a batch of images Image#6 shouldn't get a number before Image#1. I'll manually upload when this is important to me, but I thought it was important to point out, because it means having to reorder images in a forum post... Like this:

Oh oh, is your complaint that the Image ID number doesn't correspond with your title number/order? Dunno about that.

Sorry - cant help you there either. I don't ever really upload a series of pics at any given time. Good luck.

On a side note - congrats on your yellow riboon. It was my favorite of the challenge.
