My wife blinks in every flash photo I take of her. Any suggestions on how to work with this?

Thanks,

Have her close her eyes and tell her to open them as you click the shutter.

Edit to add: this also helps dialate the pupil for a more attractive portrait.

Glue her eye lids open. That always works.

Sorry, couldn't resist. :P

I always end up yelling "DON'T BLINK!!!"

sometimes with colorful *&%)#&%*)%&#% words.

Try this. Always count 3, 2, 1 when taking a photo of her.
But press the shutter when the count reaches 2.

A nurse did that to me not too long ago while taking blood... that's just wrong... LOL...

I find the counting method works well in photography and "needling" people. People always flinch, blink, or pull away when you hit 3, I beat them to the punch. :)

I might be the only one to suggest this, but I would just photoshop in your choice of wide-open, crossed, bloodshot, bulging, exotic animal or even alien eyes.

Well, seriously, I have done transplants from one good photo to one bad one to create a perfect composite and nobody was ever the wiser.
