Anyone have any suggestions, I personally love this photo but have shown it to family friends who aren't really taken by this, what is it?

It's kind of texty looking.

What's wrong with this?
First off, you put it in the wrong forum. This forum is for discussion of the Critique Club only. I think you meant to place this in the individual photograph discussion thread, which I will do for you.

Second, the photo is not showing up, which is ok, cause it's not thumbnail size anyway. Here is a link to your photo...
LINK TO SAID PHOTO

It's actually much easier to place the photos in your DPC portfolio, and then click on the 'add thumbnail' link to add the photo as a clickable thumbnail to your portfolio.

Sooo...I hope this helps. As for the photo itself? It has a purple cast to the entire photo making it appear oddish. Otherwise, it's a lovely scene.

Hope you don't mind Aperture but I had a very quick play with your photograph to attempt to remove the purple colour cast. I'll remove your photograph from my portfolio in an hour or two.

Had a quick play with curves and colour balance.

I'm not fond of either version. Mostly because I'm more fond of natural looking colors but also because there really isn't a point(s) of interest. Just kind of a ho hum scene with strange colors.
