â€Â¦start seeing higher scores. I really thought my free study entry would have received a higher score than it did so my vision/creativity must be off, especially lately.
What am I doing wrong? What am I missing? What am I not seeing? Where is my artistic ability?
Please someone look at a few of my photographs and give me some guidance in this matter.

I love your photos, both your top scoring challenge entries and your portfolio picks... seems you have a great talent with DOF, color, and composition especially.
These are my first glance favorites of yours, would earn a 9 or better from me |

I'm with you on this one. I knew my Photojournalism picture was only OK and a bit of a stretch for challenge, but scoring in the bottom 2% makes me wonder if I'm progressing. I've been charting my results, and when I add my expected score from Rhythms, I get nearly a flat line. |

You can still progress on a flat line. It just means that the line is coming toward you.

one thing to do when you feel a creativity-disconnect is to shoot through it. get down on your hands and knees and shoot into the grass and under the bushes, then slowly work your way out to a broader view, but from different perspectives. climb up on a ladder and shoot down. just do something different and have fun. |
