From the DPC Underground:
Post shots that you liked, thought worked for the challenge, but had a score that was low.
this isn't about being underrated...I don't mind the scores...I like the shots and they fit my idea of the challenges..post yours..both of these scored under 5 and I knew it going in...
please no complaining-(this isn't a rant about the voting forum) |

IMO, some of the best shots on this site are in the underground. Love the unique styles that don't neccesarily have the mass appeal.

each time I look at your window shot I like it more. It didn't grab my eye the first time, but the second and third times I went through it got better and better. It has a very 'water color' feel to it.
None of my pictures really do as well as I hope they will, until I read people's comments, and then I can see why they didn't do so well... Often I still like them, though. |

Rikki, that shot would have had a sky high score if people could have read the story with it (imho). It was a great caputure, and you can totally feel the emotion once you know the story. Sometimes I wish there was more room for 'explanations' while voting... |

Cool thread,
I was really surprised (well... not really!) that my shot of a fly having a dump didnt do well:
As for meeting the challenge 'Jump', maybe its just a british thing... but quite often if you scare someone or make them jump they'll shout "Whoa, I just sh*t meself!" (to be read with a cockney accent)
It made me laugh anyway. |

Didn't realize there was a requirement on how much blue was needed...lol
edit; one of my best studio set up shots

probably should have used an old persons hand, and an old piece of rope. almost self-DQ's it - but bit the bullet.
realistically 'Peace' is something that has been sought after for eons, and still yet to be fully achieved... therefore peace is as old an concept as the human race. shallow minded voters !!! ;}

My "minimalist" sports challenge entry......
I genuinely like this, I had other shots which would have probably done better but there was something about this that I liked....not many others agreed with me though.

Definitely my Negative entry, which many thought wasn't.

Thanks a lot... I think that one's a "like it or hate it" kind of shot, judging from the comments I got. |

Oh yeah, for you, 5.7 is low. My mistake. : )

This was a bit too subtle for the conspiracy challenge.
Of coarse I knew the razor blade was there...but I dont think many others did.

I still like this shoot even if it placed in the lower 20%'s...

I liked both of these. The first one was not old enough for the voters and the latter I'm not really sure. All I did was brighten it up since I exposed for the sky, which was part of the story. I've seen stuff like this in papers and especially in magazines so I thought I had gotten past the DNMC filter.

This is still one of my favorites of my shots -- I think it's emotive, it's sharp, tells a story, etc. It got a 5.1.
