my advice would be to NOT send such an invoice requesting a certain amount. If you politely work with this organization, you may get whatever it is that you would normally ask for such work, and you would show yourself as a true proffessional, and if they need anything in the future, they would be much more likely to contact you!

It was the family who took the photo from the net and delivered an almost complete package to the printer and newspaper. Surely this is still theft and some people failed to check copyright. But, the organisation did not sell them the photo, it is not in their portfolio, and no other party made money with it.
It is now clear to the organisation that they need to pay better attention. I don't think I'm going to confront the family, given the small size and low quality.
I stayed polite, got some attention from the newspaper and the organisation. Maybe good for some business in the future.

Maybe I am too easy on this, but that's my choice.

After this I got a pic in another newspaper (20.000 copies), this time with my permission. :)

Just a quick and small edit of it.

A small museum near where I live opened their 2006 Exhibition. The theme is "the 1950's". They display part of school, a kitchen, a small livingroom and stuff like that. For the opening they arranged Elvis Presley*, who came with a pink Cadillac. I was asked to do the photography there and know the journalist who wrote an article about it. She asked for one of my photos and this it.
It is a weekly newspaper that covers all the local politics and local cultural stuff; "De Koggelander". App. 20.000 copies.

So unfortunately nothing spectacularly photojournalistic*. :)

* The real one (seriously good singer)
** that happened in 2003

The Elvis/car thing happened two weeks ago and was in last week's paper.
The something spectaculary photojournalistic* was a churchfire in 2003 where I was one of the first on the scene. Those photos were used in a variety of publications. :)
