I always seem to struggle with picking which photos to submit for challenges.
Given these two for the windows challenge, which would you have chosen and why?
The one I submitted
The other option |

I like the first...the house in two is nice but I'm more of a nature lover (or tree hugger if you prefer)...any way you can get them clouds from #2 into #1? That would be cool

I like the second one after a bit of photoshop tweaking to make the house a touch brighter. |

I'd pick the 1st one.
1. If I have to look out a window, I'd rather see landscape, not someone's house.
2. The blown out clouds in the middle of second one are distracting. My eyes go right to them and it's too dark IMO.

IMHO, probably would have submitted #2, but with some additional post-processing to make it less dark... |

Both beautiful shots! I really like the nature of the first one, but the lighting and dramtic clouds in the second is much better. The composition is really nice too with the way the house and the garage are in separate windows. Seems to be more wow factor in the second, so I would say that one might have scored better. That is one hell of a rec room with gorgeous views like that! |

I like both, but I prefer the second one. I like the dramatic feeling in this one.

I would have picked the one with the house and clouds. That one has more for the viewer to see. The house and dramatic clouds provide more viewer interest. The one you submitted directs the viewer more to the sky yet there is less to see in it's sky than the image with the house.
Dramatic clouds in a sky will beat out a clear sky any day.
I would have post processed the second a little differently to bring out more color and brightness on the ground, possibly adding highlighting to the house and trees and used some dodge and burn to make the sky more dramatic than it already is.
