April 30 is my birthday and I was so filled with joy when I came across this thread: it was like a gift. Thanks to Robert and all you wonderful folks.
Like I said elsewhere, these last three weeks and this one finds me tending to my new boat with hardly anytime to shoot, let alone make comments. No time to even take advantage of the free study. Yes, I placed an image but at last minute with only one hour to shoot and edit. The rush has been so fast, that is getting the boat ready to sail, that the ideas just come and go but I am in no position to grasp them because of the time constraint. Like what would I do with them. It is like cathing a bird in the hand and watching it fly away as fast as it came. I can save some but the fun of DPC is that ideas must be timely.
So, while this thread makes me happy it also gives me a guilt feeling because all that I have been doing is simply voting with very little commenting. Wonderful images too which deserve all the comments they can get.
I also feel bad because I do want to extend my appreciation to many of you but I feel I must put it off until my return to normalcy and then I will be very behind. Have no fear, graphicfunk is lightning fast and I will return the goodwill displayed here.
A sailor does not function until his boat is spanking ready to go. be back soon. |
Daniel, how's about this old yachtsman making a trip down Jersey way this summer and helping you put the new sloop through her paces? Just say the word and I'm on my way :-)

Originally posted by Art Roflmao: HUGE respect & gratitude for the contributions of: graphicfunk, bear_music, skiprow to the overall quality of this site!
And I put my torch & pitchfork down and give big hugs to: Jutilda, CalliopeKel, Suemack, Beetle, Lentil, idnic, Riponlady, Sherpet and others who have been very generous with their comments and just being fun to hang out with here.
I guess I could also say click on my favorites list for a list of many of the people I have come to appreciate, but the list is not all-inclusive. I must say there are very few here whose village I felt compelled to burn and very few who have burned mine for abusing their photos with Woody or Godzilla or other PS antics.
I thought about this many times in the past 18 months or so: Why am I addicted to DPC? It's not the photography, it's not the images, it's not even the fact that I am learning new things all the time - Everytime it's the same answer - it's the people - the community. Great people, all of you. ...well, most of you.
Good thread, bear. |
awww your too sweet :) thanks Ken |
