I don't know if it's the solution for everyone...but I tried an experiment last week that I plan to continue:
I went back to the last two challenge entries I had and sent PMs to those who had taken the time and effort to really make some constructive criticism....those comments that went above and beyond what I might normally expect.
I didn't say whether I agreed with their opinions or not (though, really, for the most part those who comment on my stuff are right on!)--I simply thanked them for their comment and told them how much I appreciate the contribution they make in sustaining this site as a valuable educational tool.
Initially I thought it might send a few smiles out over the internet and brighten a couple days.....
But you know what? It brightened mine too because I had several responses thanking me for the thank you's I'd sent!! How could it get better than that? They were happy to have commented--I was happy to get their comments! Hopefully it's a small bit of encouragement to keep up the good work they do...as I really can't thank them enough. |

| Along those same lines, I try (note "try!") to go back and comment on the most recent entry of the folks who commented on mine in a challenge. Just another thought! |

| I think there are so many photos to vote on that it gets overwhelming to leave comments |
