Looks like a good needs list. FWIW, I'd go wireless myself with the remote.

And, I love my Stroboframe Quick Flip.

It will, as long as you don't have a battery grip. You'll need a cord to connect it to the camera too.

edit: Link top Quik-Flip 350 @ B&H

I got the battery grip for my D70s and I love it. It looks cool it makes the camera fit better in my big hand and the extra juice, I can shoot like 1700 images before charging. Love it!

I didn't know there was a wired remote for the D70? The link says D70S. I have the wireless and have been very happy with it.

If your profile is up-to-date with your lenses - why not look into the 50mm f/1.8? It's a great little lens!

When I got my D70 I knew one complaint was the lack of a wired remote - I did a little googling and from what I read, I don't think it will work for the D70 - it was one of the improvements of the "S" that allowed for a port to plug it in. Anyway - I'd probably check it out more before buying one.

Don't do any of the below. Sell your Nikon 70-300mm. Save the cash. Get a little more and buy the new 18-200 VR Nikon. I just got mine and it is great. Got it brand new on ebay for $80 over retail.

I'll post a few VR comparison shots tonight. The lens is awesome.

If you're trying to decide between the wireless remote or the corded remote, it depends on how you plan to use it. I have both and I have certainly used the wireless remote more often than the wired one, however, you cannot fire the shutter from behind the camera with the wireless remote as the sensor is on the front of the camera. The range of the wireless remote is pretty decent. ~20ft or so. I haven't tried the wired remote on BULB mode, but the wireless remote opens the shutter with one click and then closes the shutter with the second click of the remote. However, I believe there is a 30-minute maximum on the shutter staying open, so it will shut after 30 minutes.

Anyway, the wired remote is handy for being behind the camera, but the wireless remote get's used most of the time.

Good luck.

Battery - check //www.sterlingtek.com to see if they got one for your camera. For canon they work fine and are tons cheaper than the original canon battery.

remote - how do you plan to use it? For my rebel the wired remote (a cheap ebay version) is what i got for tripod use. great, no batteries to go dead. if you want to be in front of the camera then the wireless is the way to go, but for behind the camera use the wired is better.

flash bracket - buy a really really good one and off shoe cord or don't bother. YOu're probably better off getting a gary fong Lightshpere for $40 or so. I tried the bracket thing - i will likely sell it later this year - I should sell it now but i only used it twice. I may try and modify it.
bracket issues: you get the camera rotate kind or the flash flip kind. i got the rotate kind, a cheaper one (at $90 not so cheap) - issue is 2 fold - left hand normally goes under the camera and operates zoom..not feasible with my bracket (good brackets have a handle type thing that sits out in front under the lens). second issue is the flash sites in landscape mode while the camera frame is protrait - the light will get cut off at the top, bottom or both of the frame.

I guess i just convinced myself to sell my bracket...make me an offer on it

back packs are great.

Well it seems that the gary fong Lightshpere for $40is the way to go then it seems i will not need a bracket if i have the light shpere?? ive see his clip and it seem prety ligit.... soo i guess a Lightshpere it is.....

Like I said "save some more dough!" In the event the money burns a hole in your pocket....I'd get the wireless remote...I have that.

I'm not sure about the connectors, but I built one for my Pentax with about $8.00 in parts from RadioShack. I googled for the instructions - there were a number of camera types listed - don't remember if the nikon was one.

It was pretty easy - 8 solders and it's done.
