I spent the day at an immigration rally taking photos for the paper and it was amazing. I got home around 7:30 sent my photos and called it a day. I crawled into bed beat and tired when the phone rang at 11:30pm. It was a contact at the sheriffs dept. He told me to grab my bullet proof vest and get to Vista (a local city) now. When I got there there was a sea of officers. 21 k-9 units 2 SWAT teams and 400 officers. WOW I hit the jackpot. I'm the only journalist on site. I watched as the officers went after 800 protesters that had turned disruptive. They threw rocks bottles and anything that wasn't nailed down at us. I even watched a protester build a pipe bomb out of a fire extinguisher while walking among them. He said he'd stab me in the heart if I took his photo. Needless to say I'm still here. I did get info back to the officers and they went after him. I will be posting some photos on Photobucket later after I get some rest. Anyway just wanted to share.
