I just wanted to add to a previous Thread.

I was taking my pictures for the "From Above" challenge and had a bad feeling. I was in a public place in town and security was in high alert.
Security made me known that they were watching me. I think after 9/11 and the fear of terrorism, security will be looking photographer in highly public places.

I went by our local fire station recently. I told one of the fireman what I was doing, and that I'd like to also bring my son by to take some pictures. He said sure, come on by. I had the same experience when I went to a certain store for the fruits and veggies challenge.

I think if you ask politely up front, and offer them a business card or other way to get hold of you, even security guards will probably cooperate.
