There should be a little side note in every profile that says when the person last logged on. |

There is, but only admins and SC can see it. Us ordinary grunts just see if they are on or not (and how long they've been on). |

Maybe it could be an extra perk for us members...? |

I think it's been left off to keep us from stalking each other...
I'm not that well-versed in the stalking world...is that info that sensitive?

I made this suggestion a few months ago. Maybe this time it will get consideration. |

I don't know whether I'm fer it or agin it but why does anyone want it? What good is it knowing when a user last logged in?

Stalking, mostly. |

I am against, why should we need to keep track of each other here?

I think it's a horrible idea.
I see no need in tracking people or being tracked that closely.

I don't understand the need for this at all.

If you ask me, only "online" or "offline" is enough.
Nobody needs to know how addicted I am :P |

I can see that it might be somewhat useful to know whether a user is online. Would be more useful if we had an on-site PM system. As it is now it would be of marginal usefulness, IMO, and could be abused.
It's pretty much required for SC, since we often need to know if a user has logged in recntly.

Just to see if they're a current user or not. I've asked questions to some people, and never got a response because they're no longer active. |

I can very well see your point. But that does mean that you can keep track of all users on the site. And I have the feeling that we are many that do not want any or all users to be able to keep an eye on when we are here, when we are not here, when we last were seen.
I have 5 big brothers in real life ;-) would be glad if that number didn't grow.

One way of checking this that *is* public information is to check the user's forum post history. It's usually apparent from that, along with challenge submissions, comments given, etc. whether a user is active or not.

But you can get a good idea of this already by the names on the top of this list... :-) |
