Anybody know about how much it would cost to replace the shutter on a Digital Rebel? |

If it will be so expensive then buy 20D or 5D better
Good luck. |

Thats exactly what I'm going for :) I'm going to order the 5D and sell off the Rebel. If it isn't too expensive though I was thinking about replacing the shutter to increase the sellability. |

Put the Rebel on eBay, say that all it needs is a new shutter, somebody will buy it. |

You should be able to get an idea by callin Canon and asking wht that specific job costs. I'm expecting that it will be at least $200. Add shipping to that.
If the cam is working now, sell it as-is. If it is not working, look at prices from recent sales and decide whether you'll benefit from replacing the shutter before sale.

I got lucky and got it replaced for free on my 20D. I had a cracked LCD that I had replaced ($180), and they replaced the shutter and shutter release mechanisms too. They didn't tell me how much that would've cost though, so I can't help there. They also cleaned the sensor and did a tune-up free too. |
