As of this evening, I am the very proud owner of a Canon EOS-20D :)
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions I received on other threads. So many of you helped me narrow down my choices. I did the research and took in all the tips you shared. For those who might be looking, you will hear this a lot, but it wasn’t until I actually went into a retail store and handled the choices I had that it all came together. Yes, price and capabilities were important factors – but the Canon EOS-20D just felt right in my hands.
Now I need to sell my Sony Mavica CD500 so I can buy a new lens from my wish list.
Oh yeah, I also need to learn how to use it now – but it is going to be fun! |

Thanks Sue and Robert. I am like a kid on Christmas day.
Looking forward to experimenting with what I have learned here - especially from Robert's Landscape thread.

| Hey there Jim. I made a similar upgrade from a Mavica CD1000 to the Canon 20D awhile back. I couldn't believe the lack of shutter lag on the Canon. Amazin', ain't it! Enjoy the new toy. |
