They aren't asking anyone to be added and "Council" is spelled wrong

Okay... if someone started a thread called: "Who would you like to see added on the SC if they ever asked for nominations"... would you still want it locked.

Yes because they haven't asked for it. Here they haven't asked for new members to site council or have they asked for nominations. I just love it when people treat this site as if they have a say so. This site is not a Democracy it is a dictatorship. Drew or Langdon has not called for new SC members. So why do we start nominating people? It seems ignorant to me.

Well my friend... if the SC started locking down threads in all those instances where they did not specifically ask for input, then I fear the existence of threads would be very short lived.

As far as being a dictatorship... if indeed such was the case then why bother asking for any input at all...

As far as thing being or seeming ignorant... I do hope you will excuse the altruistic interests some people have in this site.

Hardly. We're finishing up a rules revision and working on smoothing out some internal processes that have caused problems and frustration. Adding new people in the midst of that would be irresponsible. D&L generally wait until we need several people anyway.

I'm not inclined to lock the thread because there's nothing inherently wrong with saying, "X would be a good addition to SC." However, campaigning now for a position that may not exist for many months is pretty much a waste of time.

EDIT- I WILL correct the thread title, though...

Are you nominating Vin Diesel? Geesh, that might help enforce some of the rules, but don't you think it's a bit extreme?
