MK was good for DPC.
But, in all honesty, if anyone deserves to be on the SC, the only person that I would like to see nominated because of his even headedness, knowledge of the rules, photography, things and stuff, that person, hands down, no second thought would be...
Bear_Music.
Does anyone not agree?

For sure on both accounts.
I am not really sure what they are looking for, but they passed Bear the last time.
I am sure they have there reasons, but he is the obvious choice to me. |

I don't want to see Bear get on the SC. Most of you will not understand this but perhaps a few will. Robert is more of an asset to this community when he is not bogged down with the baggage of being on SC. This is not a dis to him, really it is the opposite.

This thread began as sort of a tribute to mk's contributions. Let's try to keep it at that. Please hold your campaigning until there's actually a call for new SC members. |

Maybe there could be a compromise...a new position if you may call it that. Where he liases with the members and site council...so whilst he doesn't get bogged down with the baggage and stuck in the site council forums...he can still relay information to them...and members can feel a bit more at ease about speaking with a respected member about problems. If that makes sense. |

i see where you're going, but why would members not feel at ease talking with the current SC? we've made quite an effort lately to be more responsive and attentive to user requests. the ticketing system has helped a lot and gives us a means to track conversations for review. our consistency has improved overall as well.
if anyone has issues or questions or needs anything regarding dpc or its functions, they shouldn't hesitate to contact the SC. |

mk was always very good about responding to my requests and inquiries made in PMs, even as we disagreed sharply in the forums.

MK, I'm very sorry to see you leave the SC. You have been a valuable person to many of us. Thanks for your dedication and as you start down another path I wish you the best.

FYI: We usually ask people to self-nominate to the SC when we need to take two or three new people -- we have never replaced them one-by-one. I'm sure there will be an announcement thread if and when we are ready to consider new members.
I'm especially perturbed at mk's resignation as she had noted recently that she was agreeing with me sometimes -- I sincerely hope that realization was not a factor in her decision : ) |
