According to UPS mine is sitting on my front porch, that is unless my wife went out and picked it up and brought it in. :-)

I don't understand. What is this thing for? It looks like a mousepad.

You write on it with a pen to move the mouse around the screen.

It comes with a pressure-sensitive "pen" that you use instead of a mouse. In graphics applications like Photoshop this is a much more natural way of "drawing lines". You look at the screen, watching the cursor, and move the pen exactly as if you were drawing. It's a very nice way of making selections, burning-and-dodging, stuff like that, because you can be much more precise. Also, the pressure you apply to the pen is mapped to the brush you are using, so you can make lines narrower/wider just by pressing harder or more lightly. It's incredibly useful that way, especially in masking mode.

Remember that spare room? It can become "occupied"... Those bike trails? I might forget where they are. Beware!

I think my UPS guy intentionally waits until last delivery of the day to bring me anything.... which I don't understand since last time I practically kissed him on the lips before he got 1/2 way down the driveway.....

... wait.. maybe that's the problem!

OK, 55 minutes is long enough -- you should have that tablet running by now ...

Take a macro of your fingernails and paint them with the pen and show us the result. You have 15 minutes.

17 minutes, actually, and those are toes, not fingers, but nice effort!

That doesn't look like a finger either.

Edit: but I'll bet you're using a finger now :(

BTW, GeneralE (or anyone else who has an older Macintosh)... I have a basically new Wacom ArtZ II 6x8 tablet sitting idle. If anyone wants it, just let me know. It's an ADB interface tablet with a Griffin USB adapter. It'll work on a USB Mac, but I don't think Wacom's driver for that model works with OS X.
