Ok, I think I'm retarded or something. I just bought a flash (speedlite 430ez) from B&H, and an omni-bounce for it. The package says it's definately for the 430, but I honestly don't see how. I've been trying to put that thing on for the past 20min and it's not going in. What am I doing wrong? Is it supposed to be that difficult? I honestly thought I was a fairly intelligent girl :)

Are you sure they sent you the right one? I had a similar situation with an order from Adorama. It wasn't the right one for my flash.

Well, see, the package says 430ez, but this "package" is just what looks like a ziplock with a piece of paper inside, so I'm not sure if it's a trustworthy thing.
How can I be sure it's the right one?

Just curious... I could be totally wrong on this but I think the latest speedlites from Canon are designated with an EX (not "ez"). In other words, I think there may be an older model 430EZ and a much newer model 430EX. Any chance you have mixed the two designations?
And if I'm totally wrong on this, I sincerely apologize as I don't have the 430. But I do know that my 420, 550 and 580 all have EX designations, not EZ. |

You know what, you're right!
The flash is EZ, and the omnibounce is EX. Damn! And looking through their site, I didn't see any omnibounce for the EZ....great.....
Thanks, guys, for helping me figure it out.
I just lost U$17 :(

Put in back in the package and send it back and ask them to swap it, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.
edit: oh, assuming that there's an omnibounce available for the flash, of course!

Only thing is.... I think rather than exchange the Omni-bounce, I think you'd be better off to replace the flash because the EX is the newer version better suited for your camera. |

Strange...I dont think B&H even sells the EZ flash anymore.
Maybe she actually got the EX flash and is just mixing up her X's and Z's

GOOD POINT! Hopefully she really does have the EX flash. It's a good one. |

No, I bought the EZ. I was going for the EX, which was U$244, but then saw the used one (which i honestly thought was the same, didn't look at EX, EZ), which was an EZ, for U$129, so I went for that :(
Now I'm thinking of returning and getting the new one.
