I've had a good run in the Open challenges lately, and was all set to take out my next victim (Rikki) in the MS Tournament. Then disaster struck. I was putting in all the photographer details for my entry late last night and got called away from the computer. When I came back, my browser had locked up. The deadline was only 20 minutes away, so I quickly relaunched and put all the info in again and submitted. Whew!
I went back to Photoshop and tried to tweak one other thing that was still bothering me, but I didn't finish before the rollover. Oh well, it was just a minor detail. The site came back up and I checked out my competition in Negative. I felt pretty good about my chances and went to hit the update button... and that's when I saw it: Complementary Colors. NOOOOOOOOO!!! What a sickening feeling! :-(
So I apologize for my own stupidity. I'll have to withdraw from the MS Tournament (Rikki will advance by default) and I had no other entries in to help out my WPL team. Sorry guys!

Yes you are! I actually heard about this disaster last night, but was too tired to chide you! *prepares to spank Shannon's rump*

Total bummer, Shannon! I've become so scatter-brained lately that I try to enter the day before the challenge ends, then go back and check the day of, just to make sure I'm in the right one with the right picture.
Of course, in my case, I sometimes think that entering the wrong challenge may actually benefit my score. :-) |

Adding to the surrealism, I had a 4.8 this morning despite having NOTHING to do with Complementary Colors. Bonus points for pity, I suppose. Either that, or I got a 10 for inverting the challenges, too.

Self-DQ. The image was withdrawn as if I had never entered and will not appear in the challenge results. I've always suffered with my low scores, but at least I earned those. This was just an accident and it didn't make sense for me to leave it in. Too bad my SC superpowers wouldn't have allowed me to move it to the correct challenge at 12:01am. |

I'm just gratefull that you're a graphic designer and not a surgeon or an air traffic controller.

There's a difference? I've designed prescription drug labels, and somebody has to make the manuals for the air traffic controllers...

So I have YOU to blame for my second, unexpected, child. Oh well, we love her anyway. :-O

Yeah, I probably shouldn't have put that on the Lactaid bottle. ;-P |

?
nor will it ever show up as a dq.
nor will it be counted as a dq if you should get another dq in the specified time frame for rules enforcement.
Shannon, you know I respect you and consider you a friend, but this seems unfair. Do we all have the ability to say, "sorry, my mistake" and get a submission withdrawn?

I think I know which shot it was. I really liked it. Gave a vote as if it was in the right challeng. I really hated to see it was in the wrong challenge.

Yes, it's in the rules. You may request a self-DQ for any reason... (subject to certain restrictions). If I get a DQ within my next 25 submissions, I would be suspended for a week just like anyone else. Hopefully, I'm not THAT stupid! |

Do you send an email to yourself DQ-ing yourself. And then send a nasty email back to yourself complaining about it? :) |

LOL - BTW I saw at least 3 inverted images in that challenge.

ROFL! Actually, SC members don't participate in our own validations. That would be unfair. I can still yell at the other guys, though. |

this is interesting because in our LoD, Ursula failed to enter an image thus my sub 5 score for Windows will take third place. Who would have thought that? |
