Does anyone know if there is an extension cable available for this remote unit or whether one can be made? The 2 foot cord is pretty pathetic really IMO? Thanks!

I made one using two stereo phono jacks and a lengths of sheielded cable.
very simple soldering operation. You can make it as long as you like, it will cost you pennies.

I thought that but the plugs are smaller than the standard 1/8" inch audio sockets. I was wondering if this size was commercially available?

You could cut the existing cable in the middle and fit a plug and socket. Then make up a lead with a plug one end and a socket the other. You can then either use it as a short lead or plug the extension into the middle. AFAIK, the lead is a simple three-core.
