this makes me cry because right now, my miss sessa is dying and I do not think she will make it to see the sun rise. I'll tell her to say hello to your Indy when she gets there. I'm a mess and I know you are too...*hugs*
This is my precious Miss Sessa

I love you and will miss you so much baby girl.

Sorry to hear that, Sher. You'll always have the memories... the nicest thing you can do now is never forget the nice moments, and remember them with a smile.

Thank you Bear, I have laid her down to sleep, covered her up and will not disturb her. If this is to be her final sleep, I want it to be a good one.

Sher and Heather, you both have my deepest sympathies. Our pets are more like members of our families than, well, some members of our families. :-) You'll miss them always, but remembering their antics and affection will bring smiles eventually. Somewhere out there is another creature waiting to fill your heart with new joy - never a replacement, just a new friend to be found.

For what it's worth Heather & Sher, be grateful for the time had, the moments shared and joy a loved one brought you.
There really is no greater tribute to a loved one than keeping the memories alive.

*hugs to both*

Ah man, I remeber when Pipsqueek (Female Sable Ferret) She had been battling Adrenal gland cancer for a few months, my wife and I moved her cage into our bedroom toward the end. I remeber the date Sept 22nd 2002 around 3am she breathed her last labored breaths in my wifes arms (my wife telling her to just go.) Man that was hard. Buried her in the backyard the next morning. I swore Id never get another ferret again because they don't live so long. Then About a year and half later we Rescued Itchy and Scratchy. 6 months later our nieghbor told us about an abused one at a pet store north of town in a 12"x12" cage. His name is Spaz. Sucks loosing pets.
