Count me in. To help people make a decision on what they will be getting you might want to give a side by side view of the Original picture and the finished one so they can see the difference.

I really liked this picture //www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=307790 in your portfolio. If you can post the original image for this one it would be nice to compare.

Cheers.

I'd buy one. Looking forward to it.

I'll wait until the Chinese get it and buy a copy from them for $3.00

;-)

Yeah, but you'll have to listen to people eating popcorn, and someone's head will be blocking the lower left portion of the video. :-D

I think 25$ is a good price.... and plus it will be going for a good cause....

I just want to make a personal statement here...the things I posted and my comments in no way insulted or attacked any other members. I have removed my posts though, because I don't want to be involved in this thread anymore. I was not warned or banned and there was no disciplinary action taken against me. The warnings are not directed at me. Just so you all know.

I agree. I would give Joey $25.00 without the DVD.

Good thing everyone comes here to learn, for free (you included Joey), and some people share that valuable information with everyone, for free. Now you want to use this site to promote your selling of a post-processing technique that you scratched up from place to place on the internet for free?

I'm actually surprised this thread is allowed to stand, being that this site is all about paying for membership, and the sharring and the gathering of 'free' information from member to member in the forums.

Hey deapee. Why don't you make a DVD on how you did the illumination picture, use a screen capture program to show how you edited it exactly, narrate it and mail it to everyone that wants one - for free?

Am inclined to agree with you David, there seems to me more than $2000 worth of pledges here and even without knowing the content of the video I'm pretty sure any 'tips' can be gleaned by asking here or visiting Mr google.

Wow. All that in 16 minutes eh?

Nobody is being forced to buy it. Personally, I learn better with live action visuals so I'm all about getting this dvd. I'd say for every person that doesn't think it belongs here there are 20 that do.

I'm not sure it's why I came to DPC!

yes, I understand we are not being forced to buy it and many people have stated they would be happy contributing to a worthy cause. However, I've seen many of Russell Browns tutorials, not only are they instructive but they are funny and free! (and I don't know him or connection to him).

Sure ECCE, Russell's tutorials are good and it's great that he does some for free. However, Russell isn't a 16 year old kid and he does make pretty good money for live tutorials.

That's too bad. I personally think it's more about helping someone out who, I feel, will put the experience to good use. I know plenty of people who've been helped substantially by the kindness of strangers, myself included. Nothing wrong with wanting to make someone's road a little less rocky.

There are alot of people including myself that really like this kid. He was given his newer camera by one of the members here. If Joey asked if anyone would help him get what he needs for this venture, I am sure there would be a lot of DPCers who would donate to him without receiving anything in return.

Joey, I'd be interested.
04/25/2006 10:19:40 PM · #74
I don't think there's anything wrong with him selling a technique DVD, you have to 'sell yourself' to do anything with photography or video and he has to start somewhere. Might as well be here where people know he won't rip them off right?
