I have a few photos in my portfolio I'd like critiqued, if that's alright. I always love getting in-depth critique on my stuff.

Sorry to post so many, but any and all critiques would be welcome.

Thank you in advance!

I like the butter fly alot. For me the leafs would have looked better with less bluriness at the bottoms, but thats just me. They are good photos tho.

There was no way that they could have been not blurry, as they were closer to the camera than the other leaves. Unless I would have picked them...but that would have scared off the butterfly, I think. But I agree, it would have made it a better shot. :)

Hi Samantha... it was a pleasure meeting you at the Desert Botanical Gardens. I recognize a couple pictures from there taken that day.

Generally, what I see with your pictures are two things. First, you have an instinct for composing good images. That is a skill that cannot be taught. Second, you can and will do lot more with them as you learn image post processing skills better. You are young. You have plenty of energy and time to become a skilled photographer which includes good image post processing skills. :) Study and learn as much as you can.

My favorite of the group is the floral image that got DQed. That is because it has good tones and the primary focus is on the center of the flower.

Most of the images in this set I can download and, with basic post processing adjustments, can easily "improve" them.

My recmmendation to you is this... study the video tutorials at "The Radiant Vista". That is a web site put together by a couple of the best educators of still image editing I've ever seen on the web. They use Photoshop but the fundamentals they teach work with anything.

They have a series of video tutorials that are outstanding. One group of tutorials are "reference" tutorials located here:
Radiant Vista Video Tutorials

Of this group the most informative video, in my opinion, is the one titled "A Photoshop Reference: Essential Adjustment Layers" located on the second page of references. You will learn about color correction as well as how to do it. It is 57 minutes long, but is worth every second.

Another group are tutorials where they take individual images submitted by photographers and simply create a video describing their steps used to make it "better". That is called the "photoshop workbench" and is located here:
The Photoshop Workbench

I can't remember if you own Photoshop or not. But much of the things they do can be done with GIMP which is a free software available on the Net.

I left some comments too! You have such great talent. Continue to using your view as your primary tool, sencond your camera and third the holly graal of PS.
Good shots and hope see you getting some ribons sooner!
