WIth everything blooming now, warmer weather, ect, would anyone like to plan anything? I was thinking Jamestown, WIlliamsburg, something like that. Any takers?

well, if you're on the eastern shore, or maybe up on a peninsula, jamestown/williamsburg would be 'west' ;-)

williamsburg would make for a great g2g, anytime in the next couple months.

not sure how far either of those places are from me bu I might be able to make it.......that is if you would allow a SE KY transplant to join ;o)

lol okay I guess I'm off with my geography lol. I'm on the peninsula but go over to Yorktown a lot since hubby is stationed over there, and have been to Williamsburg once- without my new camera that's not so new anymore lol.
So does anyone want to plan anything for Williamsburg then? I need a heads up of about 2 weeks so hubby can take some time off. So much easier to take pictures when the spitfire isn't tagging along.

I have time any weekend between April 29th and May 15th available. Any part of that area would be great (VA Beach, Yorktown, Norfolk, Richmond, Williamsburg...)

Could the title be changed to Southeastern VA?

I'm definitely in. I just bought a house and am moving this month, so anytime in May or after would be great for me. And I am in the "southEAST" LOL

I'm interested, but a bit busy this month (1 week free). I'll change the title to Southern VA for now.

I might be interested. I'm not really sure yet. I've never been to Williamsurg, eventhough I lived in Richmond for 7 years, so I would be interested in seeing it.

Skip, I'd love to come down this weekend but its a no from me. May 6 is possible, as is the 13th...

I'd love to run around Richmond - never been closer than 95...Anything planned for there?

Richmond is pretty good, like most places this time of year. Monument Avenue (world's largest collection of second place trophies) is especially pretty.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens are just awesome this time of year, like any major garden. I will definitely be trying to get out this weekend for something.

Moving into my "1st" house I bought this week and the weekend. Got some good rain here..(20 minutes south of Williamsburg) Fri. & Sat., things are popping up everywhere. I'm in for the 6th or after if this happens then!

the weekend of may 5/6 is nascar weekend, and, sad to say, i'll be working all day fri & sat. however, even if you don't go to the races, the event is an absolute shootfest, almost like a state fair, but without all the rides. food, sights, sounds, people--you name, it's there, just waiting to be photographed.

also, that sunday is wide open as well. richmond is a great place to shoot. come on over/down/up ;-)

unfortunately, this saturday is the only free saturday i'm going to have until sometime in june :(

hey, rich! you calling arthur ashe 2nd place ;-)

lol... never. He does seem to be the lone exception to the theme of that row of monuments. Having said that, some of them really are very picturesque. With good backdrops to boot.

Skip, and anyone else in the Richmond area,

Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens stays open until 9PM on Thursdays. I plan to go there this Thursday to see how the sunset action is over the lake; I have always wanted to check it out. I will be there around 6:00 - 6:30 or so if anyone wants to meet up.

-Rich

Edit to add: Actually this is the last Thursday they will have extended hours until July, so this a very good opportunity!

Nothing specific. I would be willing to go back to Lewis Ginter or do something else in the Richmond Area. Just let me know. Have fun at the game tonight!

I apologize for not replying sooner.

I'm horrible at planning anything but my husband is taking the week of May 18th off so I could be kid free at that time. Does anyone have any time open during that week?

I don't know where the Ginter Botanical Gardens are but sounds beautiful.

Could someone please send me a PM if they are interested in something concrete.

Dophnz8 you're not far from me and we definetly have to set something up.
