Hi everybody,
I changed my layout today. I'm curious about what you all think about it!

there is a problem with the site in the fact that when you look at a photo it opens a new window but when you go to the next shot the main window comes to the top hiding your new photo so forcing you to have to change window every time so you can see the new shots... there should be a way to keep the popup window on top to fix this problem (I'm using firefox browser)
I like the shots by the way very cool and nice layut |

Thanks for your comments.
@Firsty: You're right about that. Hadn't noticed it yet, because I always close the window when I want to see another shot. I'm also using Firefox. Any idea how this can be solved?

Might want to include a title attribute to the links so people will have an idea of what the link goes to without having to click it.
The links opening in new windows issue people are describing is the standard behavior and is the way it's supposed to work. If you want it to do a non-standard behavior you can write a javascript to tell it to first close the window then open a new one. However, most people using firefox I would imagine turn off javascript or at least hobble it. |

Ok, playing around with this a bit.
Here's one of your links.
Now if we make some changes in a couple of places
...onclick="var focus="window.open... and ...location=no'); focus.focus(); return false;...
Adding the bold parts will retain focus on the window with the image provided the user allows the script to be run and specifically in firefox they have allowed javascript to raise or lower windows.

Thanks for your help, TechnoShroom! I really appreciate that. I'll try this when I've got more time and I'll let you know if it works. To be honest, I really didn't know how to solve this problem, so I'm very thankful.
The thing you said about including a title attribute to the links is something I've been thinking about. I'm not quite sure about that, but I'll think about it again. |

You should. The alt attribute isn't supposed to give you information when you hover over an image. It's supposed to be used when the image isn't displayed. IE and browsers that use it as a model will incorrectly display the alt information but mozilla based browsers correctly ignore it. Using the title attribute on the other hand gets the information correctly displayed in both IE and mozilla when you hover. Plus you can use it in other tags to display helpful information. |

I've learned to use the alt attribute for this, but it doesn't show up in Firefox like you already said and I didn't know how to solve that problem, so I'm going to try the thing you suggested. This is very helpful, thanks.
