I just got home from a very special company event...
Every 2 years, my employer throws a giant party for employees with 5 or more years of service and their spouses. If you've worked for my company for 5 or more years, you get invited to the party.
They rented the Toronto Metro Convention Centre on Saturday night and provided 3300+ guests with dinner. But that's not all!!! In addition to dinner, they had the cast of Toronto Second City come in and do a comedy/improv show.
Then the best part ... the musical entertainment for the night ... Blue Rodeo. That's right, the company I work for hired Blue Rodeo for a private concert. How cool is that?
Afterwards, we danced to music provided by the Toronto Raptors DJ and then retired to our hotel room. My specific subsiduary of the company pays for hotel rooms for all employees in the years that they reach 5, 10, 15, 20, etc. years of service. I reached 15 years in March, so my room was free.

Holy Crow !! That would be an awesome night - Blue Rodeo is awesome !

33 - you're not old enough to know who Blue Rodeo is! Google them and listen to some of their music. Some of my favourites are "Lost Together", "After the Rain" and "Rain Down on Me".
BTW, woutje, who do you work for? That party must have been awesome!

I had no clue who they were either so I googled them, still don't know them but how is 33 not old enough? Their first album came out in '87 and their last came out in January. |
