Hello everyone,
I got a camera 350D, and some lenses you can see in my profile. I would like to discuss about this camera and lenses and accessories to have good information together and to help each other as possible.
What do you - poeple - think about this camera? I am planning to buy Canon 1Ds Mark II, did anyone try it? and what you think of it?
I hope you share information with me and maybe know each other.text |

I have one of these (for about 6 months). I am really happy with it. A lot of people critise the size of it but it feels good in my hands.I started out with SLR's using Pentax because of it.s small size. My wife and I travelled a lot - so small size was a plus. I then switched to Canon and because we already have a few lenses, then to the 350D. The set up from the SLR wasn't greatly different so the learning curve wasn't as steep.
The only thing I don't like about it is the lens that came with it (18 - 55mm). I have two other lenses from the SLR - a 70- 200, and a 28-70USM. These are much better lenses. The 28-70 tends to live on the SLR body so I would like to replace the 350D lens (when I save up).
The 350D itself - love it. I read the manual continualy trying out the various features to get use to the camera. I think I have a handle on it now.
Would I like one of the other canon's (like the 1D) ? Sure - who wouldn't ? But mainly because of the metal body and ring. The 350D has a lot of the specs of the higher end cameras and the differences you would have to be specifically after.
I think it's a matter of getting to know your gear well and getting the most out of it before you consider upgrades. Have a look at what Joey Lawerence did on a $5 camera. |

Thank you for your reply Tajhad, I appriciate that. My first digital good one camera was Nikon 8800, i didn't have good camera before like kodak and so on, but i was so happy with my nikon till i upgraded to 350D and i am happy with it. I love it, but i feel it is not that best camera i am looking for, so with full frame camera i think i will be much satisfied. I know 350D produce superb picturs but still full frame much more better, thats why they are expensive for sure and that doesn't matter.
I got alot of photos taken by my 350D but still i don't know how to post here, and most of my pics i feel it is not good comparing with pictures here from the same camera, either they do many editing, or i have something missing, anyway, i will post some when i know how to do that and see what you people think then.

Don't compare yourself with us [arabs], we don't have that skills in photography, if available it is very rarely and i am trying to go up with my skills in the future.
really it was nice pics taken by $5 disposable camera. Good luck for all photographers in the world including me. |

I also have the rebel xt, and I love it. I had it a little over a year now. I am very happy with it, I did not get the canon lens that came with it, instead I got the Sigma 28-80mm... I also have Sigma 105mm, Sigma 70-300 (for the money its a decent lens), and a Canon EF 50mm (this lens lives on my camera now).
But overall I just luv the camera, the only thing I dont like is I wish the display for the settings was on the top. But other than that no complaints, others here dont like or care for the size but I love the size of it. I have taken so many pictures with it now...... I know I have over 10,000 shots on it already. Right now I am looking at the Sigma 20mm 1.8 lens.
Also sooner or later I will upgrade, I want a second body slr but gonna keep this one, I am looking at the 30D. The rebel XT accesories just brought were 2 batteries from ebay, they last so long, awesome batteries. I also have the Canon 430EX flash.

Nice replies. Thank you people, and thank you for moving my thread to another section.
You are right people, it is nice camera and i took more than 10000 pics as well, and another mine camera (Nikon 8800) is nice great camera as well.
about the size i don't care at all, i travelled with most of my tools and 2 cameras and took pics with both by helping from some friends as well.
Keep sharing, people. |

Don't put yourself down. This is an international community here - from every part of the globe. Some are excellent photographers - some are still struggling to learn (like myself). It is nothing to do with which country you come from or background. Some of my favourite photographers from here have been a mixed bag - from a 16yr old boy from Canada, a young lady from Germany, a wise older man (sorry Bear) from the States - to a lady who I discovered only lives 50 Km from me. This is certainly the forum to try and improve these skills. We can improve together. Why don't you photograph local people and locations - you certainly have some interesting faces/ locations in the Emirates. |

in fact most and more than most photographers here are from non arabs world. I will not say that we are down, but you people got better nature than us, and you are more open for photography than us as well. come to my country and count how many arabic people take photos as advanced or prof.
I am registered to another arabic forum, and i saw alot of pics, most are normal or little nice pics, not as profssional nature or people photos as here.
Anyway, I am sorry to talk in this way, but still i didn't see alot of arabs took photos here or somewhere else
