Hi, i tried to make some stereographs with my sony dcr-trv24. I'm quite happy with this one.
3d photo
(When you look at the right image with the right eye and the other with the left eye, you see the object in three dimensions) |

my eyes just wouldnt tweak themselves - i could tell they were trying, but the seperation was too wide --- it took the smaller size to get my eyes to make the adjustment

WOW! Thas so cool!! You have to tell us how you did it! I like mannetje the best took quite a while to focus on it, but it had great sence of depth.

The picture of mannetje (Dutch: little man ) was my first try. The great sense of depth is what's wrong with the picture, it is a bit too great.
The magic trick: Take 2 pictures: one while your looking true the viewfinder with your left eye, and one while your looking with your right eye. (this should work ok for large objects and landscapes etc.) The pictures in the gallery where made by positioning the camera on the same table as the object, and moving it just a few centimetres(*) sideways after the first exposure. Don't move anything except the camera. *(try the distance between your left and right eye. This is what went "wrong" with "mannetje". So if you want more effect add more distance in your movement sideways.)
If your using the first method(left/right eye) please be careful not to turn your head or to make a new composition after taking the first photo. The first picture is where you make the decisions about how you want the picture to look, the second is only needed for the 3D effect.
These are just my first experiments with stereography, so i'm not sure this is the correct way to make them. (but it seems to work anyway)
I came up with the idea this morning at work after discussing an article on www.agfa.com about scanning stereoscopic images using a scanner. (btw. my attempts with the scanner failed.) I was quite amazed about the results, and the best thing is: the most advanced function of my camera(3D) was not even mentioned on the box, and it costs nothing extra!!!
Have fun!!!

I want to take all my photos in 3D from now on! : )
Here are a few of my atempts, I had a bit of trouble with shadows spoiling the affect so I blanked out the background. |
