If i have a Canon S2 wich is a 36 ΓΆ€“ 432mm stock and i add a 1.5X teleconverter what would it be after adding the converter?

When i back thefocus all the way out it hasa little vignetting so would it still be 36-432? or would it now change it to somthing higher then 36mm? How can i tell?

36*1,5=54, 432*1.5=648, so you will have 54-548mm (35mm equivalent) range. The vignetting is there because the teleconverter is not meant to be used at the wide end, so the design doesn't work well there; if you're shooting that wide, you're much better off without the converter in place.

At first i thought it was suposed to be 648, because with a 2X its justover 700mm but he seem to know better then me so i went with it.

Seems wonderful in the center, also not bad on the left. Right side is OOF, either from DOF, or a problem in the teleconverter.

But the building itself, near the center is incredible for the rig. Is this 100% crop, no processing?

BTW Kirbic just made a typo. First he said

"36*1,5=54, 432*1.5=648, "

but then he typed wrong so he said:

"so you will have 54-548mm "

The first number was right.

I didnt process it just crop in paint. Both are full quality then shrink the size down to about 25% then cut the center out. Its just a cheap video lens and im not even sure what the camera focused on.

Its good enough for me.
