I am going to try a personal experiment, that I would like to share with you. Perhaps you would like to try it as well. I have not been good at leaving comments, and truthfully I find most comments that I receive to be superfluous. But I would like to help others as others have helped me here at DPC.
I am going to look at the last 10 finishers in any given challenge, and try to offer constructive comments on those entries. These are the people that need it most and would probably be best served by comments.
I will make one ommission from that list, however. I will not comment on any of GeneralE's pics. I just think he is having too much fun doing what he does and I hope he doesn't change a thing. (Note that this paragraph was an attempt at humor.)
Maybe this is a good idea?

| You may want to see if the photographer has looked at any of the comments first before you spin your wheels, i.e. - "Helpful" box checked? |

It tends to be the pictures in the middle of the range that get the fewest comments. So it would be most benefitial to comment on those.
If I were to try this, I'd comment on pictures that got 2 or fewer comments and whose photographers have a history of marking comments as "helpful" rather than ignoring comments.

A good way to leave constructive comments is by joining the critique club.
That reminds me, I need to do some more critiques...

| Those in the top ten really know what they are doing to get there for that shot ... it is those in the middle and bottom that need the comments ... join the critique club and you get to critique lots and all sorts of different pics at all levels. |
