		| | Hello :)
I'm very new here and still figuring out how everything works. I haven't entered any challenges yet because I'm intimidated by the high quality here. So I thought I would post what I think is my best work to date and see what you all think. Brutal honesty accepted and appreciated. Thanks. (click the link for full size)

		| | not too bad, but not amazing or awe inspiring (qualities that my photo's lack most of the time also)
I'd think it would be roughly a 6 if it met the challenge well, but everything is at the whim of the voters.

I like the composition well enough, but the lines tend to lead a little too much out of the photo, rather than in. Leaves the viewer moving on instead of staying to look.

		| | Nice shot. I would flip it about horizontally: IMO rising diagonals would work better in this shot.
Most voters on this site have no ability to see pictures as a structurall/visual unity. They are mostly looking for *subjects* and *plots*, with absolute sharpness and clarity (both image- and idea-wise). A shot like this is very unlikely to do well in a challenge, unless the challenge explicitly calls for abstract pictures.

On the good side, by entering a challenge you are virtually guarnateed to have around 50 full sized viewings of your shot, and, among the viewers, there will be a few with a keen eye.
