Can members have the update button displayed on their home page even when they don't have a submission currently in a challenge? It may sound trivial...but sure would help with normal navigation. For example, I am more used to using the update button to refresh the current forum list than I am to actually update my score. I know it sounds lazy, but having to move the mouse all the way up to Refresh on the browser bar is just cumbersome. I don't see why as members we can't have the pleasure of 'Updating' whenever we want...as in NO MORE WITHDRAWL!

Ok, just a thought that doesn't seem all that difficult to enable.

Thanks in advance...I am sure especially from all the update junkies.

You can use the dpchallenge logo to refresh, too. It's not quite in the same place as the update button but it's not as much work as all the way up to the refresh button either.

I got firefox a few days ago, and already I am in love with the mouse gestures plug-in.
A very quick up/down motion anywhere on the page refreshes it.

Damn you! Why did you have to say that? :)

I know...just the sight of the UPDATE link kinda makes it official so to speak. And there is that withdrawl factor to consider. I come here and the first thing I look for is that update button. Some habits are baaaaadd.....

Now THAT would be PERFECT! Even better if a random pic from a past challenge was put there with it.

The problem is that the actual Update Button is (I'm pretty sure) linked to a script which triggers a database query.

Constantly querying the database is likely one of the factors in slowing down overall site performance.
