Any critiques would be great, thanks!This was taken in South Africa in the bush, very typical bush scene.

This is a nice scene. However the tree is too centered. With subjects such as this one, the old rule of thirds adds a lot to the pic. The sky looks nice but could be enhanced with a little bit of post processing, making this a really nice shot.
Just my two eurocents. Hope this helps. |

| If you center the subject, you need to find a way to lead the viewers eyes toward the subject. If there was a path/road that leads to the tree putting in the center is ok. The way you have the composition currently you look at the tree and then your eyes wonder away for something else to look at. |

Doryn, you have some great pictures in your portfolio and in your other posts. All I would say is take heart to what your fellow DPCers have said regarding the rule of thirds. Most of your pictures capture your subject(s) centered in the photograph. While this is a typical occurance, great pictures apply the rule of thirds for subtle and creative measures. It also lends itself to how our eyes like to view pictures. Google a search on "rule of thirds" and try to apply the technique. It really does work!

Also, search the forumns on this site - you will be impressed with the amount of knowledge shared and as you probably already figured out - folks here just love to share their knowledge and help.
