Trying my hand at portrait photography. This was taken outdoors and was not planed, thus the casual clothing. I was taking some pictures of birds at my parents house and I asked them could I take a picture of them.

The only place in the yard that didn't have harsh lighting from the low evening sun was very busy with flows and fencing so I decided on the oval crop.

This is my first time. Could someone Critique and give me some pointers?

Please read the song lyrics in the picture. I found them fitting for my mom and dad. My dad has had heart trouble since 1984 and last year we like to of lost him. Yes my mom has stood by him all the way. And my dad has never let her or his children down. Growing up we didn't have a lot of money but they provided us with all the priceless things we needed. Love ya mom and dad!
