I read on another forum that a plastic carton could be made to use as a diffuser for my f707. I think it would work for other camera models that have this kind of flash, also. I put a piece of white inkjet paper to filter the flash to cover the 'hole' and here are the results. It really softened the shadows, although I needed to bump up my exposure a little to compensate, as well as put my flash on + (it was on - for all photos taken). I also included a photo of the device so that others could have a model to make their own. And two of the shots. The ones with the df at the end of the name were the diffused ones.

kandy that's very cool. i looked at the pics. what i cant figure out is how that thing goes on the camera. can you do a pic of it on the camera?

I'll second this - I just can't figure out how it would go on my camera!!
