I have these six photos uploaded on DPC prints. Four of them have been up for sale from last two months. So far I have not been able to sell single print.

Any ideas on what makes photo more sellable? I intend to make atleast enough money, in next 9 months, to earn for my DPChallenge membership.

Please let me know what are the flaws I need to fix in these photos and what kind of new photos to upload. Is there anything in my portfolio worth selling as print?

I like the monkey and the peacock heaps but I'll probably never buy a photo in my life as I prefer to take them then buy them. I'd rather have my average photo on the wall than someone else's fantastic photo. I imagine that most of DPC would think the same way but I may be wrong.

You might be right, but I thought DPCers are not the only people who might be shopping for prints on DPCPrints!

Well I know prints do get sold here and I'm not sure who by or how many. I think if you put up good shots like the monkey and peacock they will sell.

They are already up for sale. Monkey has been up for last two months. I was wondering if there are any more from my portfolio which I can upload.

... and I hope I'm doing the right pricing for the uploaded ones on DPCPrints.

I'm sure that was helpful :)

Anyone interested in going thru My Portfolio and picking the "interesting" ones for DPCPrints. I'll work on them to make them print ready.

Tejinder, Where are you advertising? I ask because I don't think people just stumble upon DPCPrints.

An excellent point, really. I'm not really sure what kind of traffic DPCPrints is bringing in but when you consider that any generic traffic is coming into a store of nearly 12,000 prints, the chances of them buying 1 of your 6 is pretty slim - just statistically speaking, nothing against your personal photos. If you advertise your own store front, you have a much greater chance of drawing traffic that buys what you have up.

A long time back, DPC ran a referral contest where you won something (money? I can't even remember) for getting the most unique referrals. I shared my link a bunch of places, just to compete with Mavrik in the contest. Since then, I've sold somewhere around 50 prints and had about 10 referral credits. This certainly isn't because my prints are all that great...it's just that I plastered my url to enough places.

do you have them key worded for the search feature?

EDIT: oddly enough i clicked your gerber pair image and see one of my prints listed under in the 'like this print' section ;}

I thought this one (thread) might have died 'natural' death, but was glad to see responses :) Thanks to mk and soup!

Well, I guess the point it taken and I need to market myself better to get the traffic. But the first question is still open - which ones you think are sellable (from my portfolio)?

Drifting is quite nice, and of course your newest Refraction of Light entry. Either may fill a nitch.

Good luck.

I asked in the Prints forum if anyone was selling prints, and it doesn't look like there are very many prints sold here in general..

the monkey one is great -- the background is super distracting, obviously, but still it's a great shot -- you didn't by chance catch it at another angle without all those colored flags did you?

This was a candid shot and I was at right place at right time. The funny face lasted for less then a sec but that was enough for me to capture one shot... and just one shot :)
