I am SOOOOOOO pissed off right now. I need to do a shoot this weekend and I need a second flash (sb600) to do it so I went and ordered one on B&H, and paid for 2 day shipping.

AFTER my order there was a message saying that all orders placed after 11AM this morning will be processed and shipped on the 20TH!

I called to cancel my order and the guy told me it takes 30 minutes for their system to update and they close in 10 minutes so there was nothing I can do other than refuse the package when it arrives 2 WEEKS FROM NOW!

I don't have extra money lying around go buy another flash and I need the flash for this weekend. I am so screwed.

The fact that the guy told me that I'm just out of luck really pissed me off too. What a crap way to do business.

I called the credit card company and it would take 30 days to dispute the charge.

I know B&H has a loyal following from many of the people here, but I'll never TRY and purchase from them again.

Adorama is the same, but I don't need the items until next month anyways. If you were a regular customer at BHPhoto you know that this is a holiday month for them and that they were closed for a majority of the month.

A little advanced warning would have been nice - some text in red before I submitted my order - not a message after it's been placed, especially since there is no way to cancel the order.

The past month 2 different pop-ups came up at their website warning people about their closing days.

I don't know if it's because I'm using firefox or it's adblocker or norton or what but I didn't get any pop-ups. Pop ups are a bad idea.

Yeah, this is what I get when I visit B&H (using Firefox and Norton).

Bummer that they wouldn't cancel it for you though. :(

Using Firefox also, and went to the site. The popup came up again.

They close during all the Jewish holidays, so it's pretty predictable when they are closing.

Weird, I've closed my browser a few times and gone back, never get that popup.

It would have been ok if they were able to cancel it, but as it is my money has already been taken, I paid for 2 day shipping and I'm not likely to get anytihng until the 24th.

I know this stuff happens in life and what are ya gonna do, it is what it is. I needed to rant a bit though.

Still sucks that you couldn't get a refund before they closed up.

Just figure, even if they had shipped it out on time, UPS woulda screwed up the shipping and you still wouldn't have gotten it on time. The laws of the universe say that the more you need something, the less likely it is to arrive on time.

That is helpful actually because I'm planning on buying an SB800 in 2 weeks when I get paid next (I'm building a Nikon Creative Lighting System). I'll probably receive it before the sb600 :(

I just went through the motions of placing an order and saw the following right at the top of the "shipping method" page during the checkout process:

Sorry to say this, but I think you just missed it...

That I didn't see. Ok, they did have it listed, my mistake. Rant withdrawn... :(

The laws of the universe got me this month too. I am digging my way out...
