After my yellow entry

I figured there was a lot of potential in this setting. I decided to shoot a serie of fruit & veggies with this concept.

After a little brainstorming these are 2 photos. More to come this week!
I wonder what you think about it :)

PS: These 2 photo's seem to get a litle lighter at DPC..

That's a neat idea, and well executed too. The dark purple of the first one is fantastic, I prefer it to the lighter. Those would look neat as big prints in like a kitchen or something.

liked it in the challenge. i think it is a great concept.

i think the idea of hanging it in a kitchen is a great way to symbolize the place that fruits and veggies get cut up. would go great on like a knife block or a cutting board line.

Certainly an interesting concept. I would definetly try using all different fruits/vegetables and different backdrops. Maybe some close, some off center. Any sort of combination. Have fun with it and you'll probably find yourself with a fantastic series. Good luck.

Awesome stuff! Very creative!

Some food for thought: Staples! Hot Glue, Epoxy, band aids, scotch tape
Some thought for food: Grapefruit, banana, kiwi, potato

I like the same general composition for all in the series, but a unique background for each.

Reminds me of an art project from school. Make a scupture out of nothing but clothespins & a paper bag. I made a dragon that was OK. The semester before mine had rubberbands & a phone book and someone made the most fantastic mini ferris wheel!

Very cool idea indeed - how did you think of it?
Agree that darker background is better...

One tip would be to take care to keep the shape of the object - the lemon one is quite elongated and thin and I think it doesn't work as strongly as your other two which are closer to their original shape.

:o)

if you're using photoshop, make sure you convert to the sRGB profile before you Save for Web. my SFW, for whatever reason, doesn't convert the profile so the colors are always off.

someone more technical can explain what it does. that's not my forte. but it's worth checking into.

cool series, by the way. i really like it!

What did you use to create the background? Is it Photoshop, cardboard, or something else?

it's a purple wall. Wanted to make the background as clean as possible, so a little Photoshop was needed ;)
