How come you're selling the 30D, Chris? I thought you just got it - don't you like it?

I got two of them....since you asked...

I was at school for photography and a vendor was there and he was getting them (canon was there too, eastern rep - NO ONE had the cameras on the east coast). Free shipping. So i ordered one.

I get info that I can get one for less from Dell. Fine. I call the first vendor, he has shipped it, but I can just refuse it from UPS. OK. I order from Dell. UPS just drops the package...can't refuse it now, can i?

So i cancel the Dell order.
and then DHL leaves a package...again, no signature, not even a knock on the door this time.

I am fighting with dell about returning it. I'd not recomend dell to anyone at this point.

So i have a spare camera...my options are to keep fighting with dell and hope it all works out, sell the camera, keep the camera (I can't really buy 2 of them, even if I sell my rebel 300).

So this is my try at selling the camera!

That's a fair price if it is actually new, never opened, with USA warranty as Prof_Fate says. I'd pop for it if I had the money.

i would definitely be interested in talking with you. there are a few new things the 30d has but only minor things that really dont warrant an upgrade, unless of course i can... er... um... help you out. lol. thats it. i would be doing you a favor. lol.

How about a (black) 350D and a 28-75 and some cash? And possibly a rather heavily used SD400? EDIT: And maybe a slightly used Seagate 250GB SATA drive, since a pending transaction didn't work out after all.

If the 350D sounds like a better backup camera for you, I can work on the cash part and I can always get another 28-75 later (you already have the 70-210 or I'd offer that in the trade!)

28-75 is on the maybe list.
I have a 300D as a back up, so a 350 is not any different (well, it is, but you know what I mean)

If I got a 20D then I'd sell my 300D, and be amybe 300-400 in debt on the whole transaction. (assuming a 20D and $500, and sell my 300D for $500 - just round ball park numbers - I have not checked to see what these cameras are going for used - but at least on the 20D end of things there's no ebay fees or paypal fees for the 'seller')

there is the how to work out the trade thing - assuming we can't meet, you ship it all to me and when it gets here OK i ship to you? Or?

Hey Chris, I feel kinda guilty since I posted the 30D for a cheaper price at Dell. Sorry about that. I'd love to take it off your hands and free my guilty conscience, but I just spent $2200 on 2 lenses and a filter, and the wife will kill me if I buy any more "toys" right now. Somebody will take you up on it for sure.

My own 'greed' - trying to save a buck. Dell charges sales tax, so all this hassle for basically $100 if that. One day I'll learn - maybe LOL.

IF the UPS guy would have only knocked I could have refused the package and been just fine...still thinking if i could return camera #2 to seller #1...as long as they don't look at the serial number I should be fine, right?

i mulled it over - but am going to buy a new 10D for $799 instead.
tried and tested -vs new and shiny - plus a 17-40 - plus a 70-200 f:4 - plus pay of my CC with the extra cash i have coming. got to love under the table work ;}

i doubt you'd get $500 for the 300D...
