Great pictures, Fritz... Thanks for the link.

Considering I was not even supposed to be there it was a nice treat unexpectedly bumping into you at the butterfly pavilion. Had a good time with you, Laura and Samantha.

azdude123... I still have free passes to the Botanical Gardens I'd give you to use... the only problem is I live on the opposite side of town from in the East Valley. If you'd like to arrange to get one or two PM me to make an arrangement.

It was great to meet Samantha & Laura, and good to get out with Steve again, even if he does pick on me in the forums ;-)

I do NOT pick on kirbic in the forums. As with all DPCers, I am duty bound to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Here are some on the images I took at the Desert Botanical Gardens:

First 8 images in Steve's Desert Botanical Gardens flora gallery

First 6 images in Steve's butterfly gallery

Phew... I know you'll all be glad to know-

I HAVE MY TAXES DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :0)

Oops... I need a new keyboard, it posted without reason!

Anyhow, here are some of my pics. I really have to learn my way around CS2. I understand you can batch process. wait, let me rephrase that... I hear that it's possible! :0)

Thanks again Steve for the pass & thanks to you Fritz for letting me use your lens (drool!) I had a perfect day, other than the sunburn. Hope your isn't too bad Samantha! ;0)

Steve, I live in the West valley myself - right up against the White Tank Mountains. Spent the afternoon there today and did some hiking. An amazing sunset and the cactus and wildflowers are stunning - not to forget the star gazing.

The White Tank Mountain Regional Park might be a great possible future location for us. Of course, Lost Dutchman State Park (Superstition Mountains) on the east side and Camelback Mountain in the middle aren't bad ideas either.

My sunburn is horrible on my shoulder, but the one on my face isn't so bad.

The pictures by you guys were great--mine didn't turn out so good. The picture I took of Steve jumping was out of focus (all of them, I might add), so was the candid I took of Laura.

I had more fun than I thought I would (not saying that I didn't think I would have fun, I'm just saying that it was more fun than I thought it would be). I got to talk photography and Photoshop with people who actually know what they're talking about, which was heaven for me, considering that one of my parents knows photography, and the other knows Photoshop, so neither can talk both with me. And besides, it's just nice to get to meet new people. So I just wanted to say thanks for taking me, Laura, and thanks for putting up with me, Steve and Fritz. :P

I'll post my pictures, which didn't turn out nearly as good as everyone elses did, when I get them put up on my portfolio.

Stunning photos Steve - I have not been there when the flowers were so vibrant. Now I have to make a trip back again this weekend - with my camera.

Last spring was exceptional for wildflowers throughout the entire western USA. This year is notable because there are so few. The desert has greened up a bit in the last couple weeks but, unfortunately, the wildflower season is lost for this year.
