Yet another white beauty and this time home grown one :) I waited for a whole year for my "Adenium" to flower and the wait was worth it (though I always thought I had one which has pink flowers). Anyway, gardening is another of my hobbies and its a pleasure mixing both (photography and gardening).

Comments welcome.

...And please suggest what can I do to make this better. Its once in a year blossom and I want to capture it in its best :)

Last weeks white beauty was this one -

These are nice. I loved both the pictures. Where were these taken?

I kill plants....not intentionally I might add. But it never fails... "all my plants are belong to dust"

Thankyou all for the comments and special thanks to Prism for "suggestion". Looking forward to more suggestions as I plan to shot the plant again today (before the flowers shed). Any ideas on background and lighting?

I'm still getting most of the comments on peacock. Not that I dont like it but I dont stand any chance of improving that existing picture. I was looking more comments (and "suggestions") for flower picture as I plan to re-click the same today. Maybe not many people share same passion for flowers :)

If I may offer a suggestion for your plant, I'd say that to reshoot it, with different lighting may help. The photo shows the light coming from above, causing shadowing on some of the flowers. This would be diminished with a light source / reflector from the front / side. A feature of that spectacular plant is its trunk, which deserves stronger lighting.
And I'd also try to get the background solid black, perhaps with curves / levels, or even by burning the black background, with it set for 'shadows', to maintain leaf and flower detail.
But it's a great shot, of a spectacular plant......well done, on both counts.

Now thats the kind of suggestions I was looking for :). Let me try it with different light right now and post the new one in few mins. I'm from India and its still early afternoon here. Thanks, Sinky!

This is my attempt at darkening your background, by burning the shadows at about 10-20%, and slightly dodging the highlights of the white flowers which were shaded. I also slightly sharpened, and perhaps overdid that.

Thanks for your effort, Sinky! I just reshot the plant and here is the new photo. I took care of lighting, but the plant has already shed few flowers :(. Anyway, have a look and let me know if anything better can be done.

Still open to suggestions from fellow DPCers. I've got the whole day to try different setup/techniques :)
