either D&L changed the algorithms and the trick is on me or something tells me my little Minolta Dimage 1500 kicks ass. I think I still have it here somewhere ;)

OK, you wonderful voters, if you can just work a little bit harder you can bump my image over 6.

I can't tell you to do this because it is a Forum Rule 4 violation now, but I'll make the usual payments if you bump me up there.

Don't tell anyone, though, some people are such sticklers for the rules.

Just did some bumping up :)

I got my own digicam 2 years ago. I'm sure though if I looked hard enough maybe I would've found a decent pic from the ole nikon990 but twas too late anyway. Couldn't compete with you folks though.

This is my first contest. The DP Challenge voters are a tough crowd! I was hoping for a higher score for my "best" effort in 2002. ;-)

I finally voted on all the images, trying to remain objective. Fun exercise. My first impression of this contest: WAAAAYYYYYY too many sunsets.

Thanks to the 1 that added my entry to their favorites. Obviously a person of taste and intelligence!

Some very impressive entries.

I wanted to enquire as to the possibility of my first submission to DPChallenge being DQ'd. I stated this in my description of my 2002 shot. I didn't set the EXIF data on my camera back in 2002. The date shows 1999, but the shot was taken clearly taken in 2002. The time shows the shot was taken at a time it clearly could not have been taken. I didn't even know how to set that information until the following year. I would hate to lose out on this submission, and even though my scores are hovering above 5 right now, I am not sure what to do. Self report or presume it will be okay?

Wow... what thoughtful voters you are. You managed to up my score to a fraction over 6 after starting off way down at 5.3. I don't know if that will hold up to the end, but I appreciate your efforts. Now I don't feel like I am wasting voter's time anymore. Thanks!

If I'd have known that all I needed to do is ask for a higher score and you'd give it to me I'd have started asking a long time ago. ;)

I have to say that this group of photos is one of the most refreshing I've seen in a while. I'm not saying that there aren't nice images in other current challenges, but being that these (2002) images were taken several years ago the style of images is a little different. More realistic and less stock photoish (word?).

Gave out many, many high scores when voting this one. Nice pic's!

I just checked if I had completed commenting and voting, on the "Best of 2002".

I have bumped more than half of the entries up higher, as I am just AMAZED at the talent. So if your score has improved, maybe I helped.

The wonderful images taken around that time as digital are outstanding, as it was still in its early beginnings.....

I'd say don't bother unless you are asked for proof (if you make top 5).
