funny, i don't study a lot of 'professional' photographers works.
i'm bad at associating names with the work.. but there's a number of photogs here I admire and consider faves. Just check out the faves in my profile :-)

| I'm not familiar with many photographers names either that's why i thought it might be fun to see who other people like. I mean of all time living or dead not just DPC |

Well i met with this guy that does wedding and he has showed up the a magazine that is in Kansas City called "The Knot" has been in there for the las 5 issues and is concidered on of the top 5 photographers in KC... any ways i wanted to work with him to improve some of my skills...... I went to his house and met he is a really nice guy.....very busy.. and AWESOME WORK! the pictures i saw that he has done were so clean and crisp... it looked like you could just reach right in to the picture...( could be the way they were printed) the web site has some work... ill stop jabbin =)//www.freelandphotography.com

Imogen Cunningham because she has an edge while maintaining a soft curvy sensuality to her photographs.
Our very own Grigrigirl because the images she takes are uniquely hers. She owns them and i'm not talking about physically but emotionally they are purely of her and her creative mind. The way she can make both men and women so damned sexy naturally inspires me.
Gregory Colbert: he turns photography into art..and its beautiful! Ashes and Snow ** anxious to see his exhibition **
and of course our very own Pedro He gets on these creative kicks and you wonder where the ideas come from but each time they are so different and so brilliant. He leaves me wanting more & his portraits also capture the essence of who he shoots and that is something magical! I haven't seen too many other photographers who are able to do that consistantly.
I know you asked for one.. but i've never coloured inside the lines ;)~

Among the "acknowledged masters" I like, to name a handful:
Ansel Adams for his purity of vision, Henri Cartier-Bresson for his unparalleled ability to freeze an instant in space & time. Dorothea Lange and Walker Evans for their piercingly unsentimental and heartbreaking documentation, Jerry Uelsmann for his astonishingly surreal point of view and his masterly craftsmanship (NOT photoshopped images, created in a "wet darkroom), and Diane Arbus for one of the strrangest and most disturbing bodies-of-work I have ever encountered.

My favorite Photographer?
This one is definately my favorite on DPChallenge.
And I met so many great photographers here that I truly admire and who became friends and helped me to become the "photographer" that I am now.

What I still dont understand is how it is possible that allready over 100 users voted me as a favorite. Realy, it's a great feeling, I just dont believe it...

It's simple; everyone loves windmills :-) I've got a few favorites myself because folks are suckers for sunsets...

This is my favorite photographer outside DPC.
Anton Corbijn
If you have never heard of him, take a look at his website..
He shoots film, and told in an interview he did 2 weeks ago that he planned to shoot film as long as he could, BUT that het realy liked the digital world, especialy the postprocessing in a digital world..

And to answer the OP's question: I don't have a favorite photographer, I just like good photos.
